Reels and social media for restaurants, cafés and pubs: content that fills tables
Social media and Reels for food and drink businesses: steaming close-ups, night-time atmosphere, a brand voice that speaks from the menu, and a site that leads to happy hour and bookings. With Boteco, The Rasa, Freud Chicken and Cunda as examples.
A restaurant's social media should make people hungry and answer the question "where are we going tonight?". Content that works has three parts: a close-up of the dish while it's still steaming, the venue's night-time atmosphere and a recognisable brand voice. A profile and a site that lead to a booking or directions in one tap complete it.
The product: dark background, close-up, steam
The difference between a food photo and a food video that makes you hungry is light and motion. For The Rasa the dishes were shown on a dark background, in close-up, while steaming; every video was sealed with a spinning logo animation. For the same venue's night side we took the camera into the crowd. Most brands pick day or night; we put both on stage.
Brand voice: building a character from your name
With Freud Chicken the joke was ready-made, but we didn't use it once and drop it: we turned the whole menu into a therapy session. "Subconscious Burger", "Flavour Therapy"... Around a black-and-yellow round logo we produced product posts, campaign visuals and Reels. A neighbourhood shop became a character on social media.
The site: what's on today, how much, where?
Someone visiting a pub's website looks for three things. The Boteco site opens with the answers: happy hour and the menu at the top, booking in one tap. On the Cunda Meyhanesi site the menu, booking and directions are two taps away on a phone, and the atmosphere Reels carry the same blue, airy look.
Monthly content plan for a venue
| Day type | Content |
|---|---|
| Weekdays | Dish close-ups, lunch menu, a short prep moment |
| Thursday–Friday | Night atmosphere, events, happy hour announcements |
| Weekend | Crowds, live music, breakfast |
| Every week | A "star dish" Reel from the menu |
A batch of footage from one evening at the venue usually gives 6–10 Reels and a month's worth of post material.
Why professional editing?
Phone footage isn't bad; the problem is rhythm and sound. Cuts that land on the music, a warm colour grade and the dish in the very first second turn the same footage from a video people scroll past into one they stop for.
Frequently asked questions
Do we need a professional shoot?
No. Clips filmed on a phone by your team are a good start; we turn them into ad-quality Reels with editing, colour, moving type and sound. Product scenes can also be built with AI.
Do you make menu and price visuals?
Yes. Menu posts, campaign visuals and story templates are made in the same voice; when prices change, only the template is updated.
How much footage do you need per month?
For most venues, one evening's worth of clips a month is enough. Venues with a busy events calendar should send footage twice a month.
Do you build booking websites?
Yes. We build fast mobile venue sites that put the menu, booking and location first: motion corporate website.
