Explainer video production: a 60-second video that sells your product
How an animated explainer video is made: script structure, ideal length, 2D vs 3D, voice-over and subtitles, timeline and what to send the studio. Fully remote, for startups, apps and companies worldwide.
An explainer video tells people what your product does, faster than any page of text. If a visitor can't tell what you sell within 10 seconds, they leave. A good explainer answers that in 60 seconds: what's the problem, how you solve it, and what to do next. Here's how we make one, and what to look for when you hire a studio.
Who needs one
- Apps and software companies. The clearest way to show something that lives behind a screen.
- Startups. For investor decks and product launches.
- Education platforms. To explain a course, a platform or a sign-up flow, like Ev Dershanem.
- Energy, industry and tech companies. To turn a complex process into a simple story, like Mube Energy.
The structure of a good explainer
- Problem (0–10 s). The moment the viewer recognises themselves.
- Solution (10–30 s). Your product enters.
- How it works (30–50 s). Three steps, no more.
- Call to action (50–60 s). Visit the site, download the app, get in touch.
Watch-through drops sharply after 60 seconds. If there's more to say, one main video plus short feature clips works better.
2D or 3D?
| 2D animation | 3D animation | |
|---|---|---|
| Best for | Services, software, processes | Physical products, architecture, machinery |
| Production time | Shorter | Longer |
| Look | Clean, graphic, icon-based | Realistic or stylised volume |
Most projects mix both: interface and type in 2D, product or space in 3D.
Voice-over or subtitles?
Voice-over makes the story stronger on websites and YouTube. On Instagram and LinkedIn most videos are watched on mute, so subtitles and on-screen text are a must. We usually deliver both versions. Voice-over is available in English, Turkish and other languages.
The process
- Tell us on WhatsApp about your product and where the video will run.
- Get a quote and delivery date within 24 hours.
- We write the script with you, then build a storyboard once you approve it.
- Animation, music and voice-over.
- After revisions, you get 4K files in horizontal and vertical formats.
It all happens online, wherever you are.
Frequently asked questions
Do we need to write the script?
No. A few sentences about your product and your website are enough. We write the script and send it for your approval.
How long does it take?
A 60-second explainer usually takes 2–3 weeks. For urgent launches, we plan the schedule together.
Can we use it in ads?
Yes. We cut 15 and 30-second ad versions and vertical formats from the main video.
Do you work in other languages?
Yes. We add voice-over and subtitles in English and other languages.
