What is an AI ad film? How to make a product ad without a shoot
An ad film with no set, crew or actors: it starts from a real product photo, the scene is built with AI and every frame is checked. When it works, when it doesn't, and how the process runs.
An AI ad film is an ad video made without a set, a film crew or actors. It starts from a real photo of the product; the world around it, the motion and the camera are built with AI. Done right, it looks like it came out of a production company, at a fraction of the cost and time of a shot film. There is one condition for doing it right: the product must never change.
Why brands are moving to shoot-free ads
A traditional shoot needs a location, lighting, a camera crew, actors, permits and good weather. If one day slips, the whole schedule slips. An AI ad has none of that:
| Shot ad | AI ad film | |
|---|---|---|
| Preparation | Location, crew, actors, permits | Product photo and script |
| Time | Weeks | Days |
| Location | Wherever you can get to | Anywhere you can imagine |
| Revisions | Reshoot | Regenerate the scene |
| Variations | Expensive | New scenes in the same world |
How the product is protected
The known problem with AI video is that the product changes from frame to frame: the logo breaks, text drifts, parts disappear. Our rule is simple: every scene starts from a real photo of the product, motion is generated with AI and every frame is checked one by one. Any clip where the logo, text or a part changes doesn't make the edit.
In the MUSATTI Istanbul films, every frame with the motorcycle started from a real photo; a rainy Istanbul day and a courier's life were built around it. Clips where the bag or logo changed were cut.
What it's good for
- Product launches: introducing a new product in an imagined world.
- E-commerce: many ad variations of the same product in different scenes.
- Kids' and family products: warm scenes without casting children. The whole ToyBom campaign was made this way.
- Story-led ads: character films that feel like an animation studio's work. For Ev Dershanem we built a neighbourhood story.
When it isn't the right fit
If a real person's face and voice are at the heart of the brand (a doctor, a teacher, a founder), or the product's texture has to look flawless in close-up, it's better to combine real footage with AI. We say this up front; not every product suits the same method.
Process
- Brief: product, audience, channels (Reels, TikTok, YouTube, TV).
- Script and scene list: a one-line job for every scene.
- Product photos: sharp, well lit, from several angles.
- Scene generation and frame checks.
- Edit, voice-over, music and sound design.
- Delivery: vertical and horizontal versions, short cuts.
Frequently asked questions
Will my product change in an AI ad film?
No. Every scene starts from a real photo of the product and every frame is checked. Frames where the logo, text or a part changes are not used.
How long does an AI ad film take?
It depends on how clear the script is and how many scenes there are; a short social ad is usually delivered within days. We confirm the schedule after the brief.
Are voice-over and music included?
Yes. Edit, voice-over, music and sound design are done together, and the voice-over is synced to the picture word by word.
What formats do you deliver?
Vertical 9:16 for Instagram and TikTok, horizontal 16:9 for YouTube and websites. 6, 15 and 30-second cut-downs on request.
